About Our Speakers

Patrick Tiernan joined Lloyd's as Chief of Markets in 2021. He's responsible for Lloyd's Underwriting, Pricing, Claims, Exposure and Aggregation Management, Market Oversight and Distribution. In addition, he's accountable for the Lloyd's Global Network, including Coverholders, Agents and the Lloyd's Lab. He is also a member of Lloyd's Council and a Director of Lloyd's Insurance Company in Europe.

Joel Cavaness has served as president of Risk Placement Services (RPS) since 1997. After cofounding RPS as a scratch operation, he's been instrumental in driving its rapid growth to become one of the largest US wholesale brokers, managing general agents and program managers. Joel currently leads a team of nearly 3,000 professionals in more than 80 offices.
